VEHICLE MAINTENANCE GARAGEThe City Vehicle Maintenance Garage services 192 city vehicles or pieces of equipment. These include 8 police cruisers (1 of these is the Dare cruiser), 22 cars, 4 jeep/blazers, 8 vans, 30 pickup trucks, 5 large bucket trucks, 6 small bucket trucks, 4 backhoes, 3 front-end loaders, 10 large dump trucks, 10 small dump trucks, 6 garbage packers, 2 road tractors, 3 transfer trailers, 1 Field Gymmy, 17 trailers, 4 leaf machines, 12 mowers/tractors, and 37 specialized pieces of equipment/vehicles. The Fire Station vehicles are not included in this list because they are not serviced at the City of Wadsworth Maintenance Garage. The Maintenance Garage Superintendent is Jack Lenthe. There are 3 mechanics and a secretary that also work at the Maintenance Garage. Once a year, the City sells off old vehicles and equipment. These will be sold by sealed bid. The equipment is advertised in the "Trading Post" and "Sun Banner Pride". The equipment can be viewed before the bid opening by contacting Jack Lenthe at the Maintenance Garage. New equipment for the City is bought either through State bid or a sealed bid. If the equipment is not bought through the State bid process, specifications that are written at the Maintenance Garage are sent to potential suppliers and advertising is done in the "Sun Banner Pride". The company meeting the specification with the lowest bid gets the contract. |
